Internet User Policy
Internet Acceptable Use Policy
The aim of this policy is to ensure that pupils will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the schools Internet resources in a safe and effective manner. Internet use and access is considered a school resource and privilege. Therefore, if the school AUP is not adhered to this privilege will be withdrawn and appropriate sanctions as outlined in the AUP – will be imposed.
Although the school takes active steps to promote safe use of the Internet, it recognises the possibility that students may accidentally or deliberately access inappropriate or objectionable material.
It is envisaged that the IT Co-ordinator will review the AUP annually. If necessary the school and parent’s representatives will review, and if necessary revise the AUP. A written signed record of review dates will be available with the AUP.
The school respects each family’s right to decide whether or not to allow their children access to the Internet as defined by the school’s acceptable use policy.
This Internet Acceptable Use Policy was drawn up by the IT co-ordinator in consultation with the Principal, Staff, B.O.M., and Parent Association.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Re: Internet Permission Form
As part of the schools education programme we use computers as a tool to enhance learning. Now that Broadband is being installed in the school the Internet will be more readily available. However, access to and use of the Internet requires responsibility on the part of the user and the school. These responsibilities are outlined in the school’s Acceptable Use Policy (enclosed). It is important that you read this enclosed document carefully. Kindly return the permission form below to the school as soon as possible. An individual form needs to be signed for every child.
Thank you for your co-operation,
Mary Andrews,
Principal
