Wellness Week Miss Quirke's 3rd and 4th
Hi girls, I hope you had a brilliant long weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. This week, instead of looking at the usual English, Irish and Maths, we will be working from your packs which you have received from school.
Each week, for the month of June, you will have a theme to focus on.
The theme for the week of the 2nd to the 5th of June is ‘Wellness’.
What is wellness?
Wellness is all about looking after yourself. It is not just looking after your body, but also your mind. It is about being confident, healthy and happy. Most of the time, we have all of these feelings, but sometimes we might not. We might feel worried, angry or stressed. It is ok to feel like this a little bit of the time, but if it happens a lot of the time, it can make us feel not so good. This week, we are going to focus on activities we can do to make ourselves feel happy, confident and relaxed. It can also be helpful to do these activities every so often, even if you are not feeling upset. I hope that you will look after these activity guidelines well for future use. Please find enclosed:
- A gratitude jar writing activity
- A calming exercise
- Breathing techniques
- A mindfulness colouring sheet
- Recipe suggestions for afternoon tea – (sometimes, it is good to give yourself a little treat. How cool would it be to set up a tea party for you and your family?)
I have included pictures below to ensure you complete the correct pages for this week. You will have all of these items in your pack so there is no need to print these.
