Virtual Bun Sale Bakes!
What a day!
From early morning 'til late night, the emails and pictures flooded in. Every pupil of St. John the Baptist Girls National School seems to have been baking on Friday, as part of Wellness Week and indeed, are a very talented bunch. The variety and style of baking was incredible from scones to meringues to Coca Cola cakes!
The girls talents are not confined to baking and cooking, as they also captured the essence of the bun sale as best they could at home. Some girls even set up stalls with buns and games and the standard was really high. Tea parties were very popular also, with royalty apparently attending some gatherings (at a social distance of course). Other themes included COVID-19, Unicorns, Cashel King Cormacs, The Sea and Pandas.
Others captured the charity element of the bun sale as well and at a safe distance, shared their confections, with family and friends. Two girls actually presented a hamper of goodies to the Assistant Director of Nursing at St. Patrick’s Hospital. The girls wanted to give a little something to brighten the days of the front-line hospital workers in Cashel who have been working so hard throughout the pandemic.
Every entry received a ticket for the raffle. The lucky winners will receive a Grogan's voucher as picked in the draw by Mrs. Andrews. It was a fantastic finish to Wellness Week and give yourselves a big pat on the back for your huge efforts. You made the Virtual Bun Sale a true success!
We hope you enjoyed eating your goodies as much as baking them! Have a look at the montage below and see if you can spot your bake!
