Third class Maths Mrs McGlinchey

2nd May 2020

Hi Girls,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine we have been getting.  I was delighted to speak to you and your parents and hear all the great work you have been doing in Maths.  Keep it up, ye are great girls.  This week Mrs. O'Dwyer and I would like to cover the topic of Capacity in Maths.  Capacity is how much fluid a container can hold.  You can see the capacity on a lot of items you have at home.  For example in your fridge you can check the capacity of a bottle of water, carton of milk or juice.  Just check the label for a number that will be followed by ml or L.  I have included a worksheet for you to download, it will explain more about capacity and there are some exercises for you to do.  Try to do as much of it as you can!

The following are some links that will bring you to some interactive activities based on capacity

I would also like you to continue to do your daily ten each day so I will attach the link for you to follow:

This week I would like you to practise your 8 times tables.  This is a new set of tables for you to learn so I would like you to learn half this week and the other half next week.

8x0=0,  8x1=8, 8x2=16, 8x3=24, 8x4=32, 8x5=40

I will attach a link for you to play a game to practise your tables:

Keep up all the fantastic work you have been doing and if you would like to send me some work my email address is smcglincheycashelgirls@gmail.com I would love to hear from you!

Take care,

Mrs McGlinchey
