Third Class English Mrs McGlinchey
Hi Girls,
I hope you and your families are all keeping well and staying safe at home. I have put together some activities to help you practice your reading and writing. The first link will bring you to a book called My Read at Home Book. There are lots of short stories that you can read and some questions at the end of each page for you to answer. Remember all the things we practised in school when we are doing activities like these. Read the story first, read each question carefully and look back at the story if you need help to answer the questions. Always check your answer! Try to do one or two of these stories this week!

Creative Writing Activity: Word Hunt: Go into the garden (if the weather is nice!) with a copybook and write down ten words based on what you see, hear and smell. Put these words into sentences or make up a short story using the words. This activity can also be done indoors.
Remember to read some of your book each day. I hear you have lots of nice books at home, pick your favourite and read it, and it doesn't matter if you have read it before! Practice your expression and fluency when doing so, read like you're talking and run your words together.
I am looking forward to hearing you read when we return to school but in the meantime, read for someone at home. I'm sure they would love to hear you!
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs McGlinchey
