Sharing Soothing Sounds on Spotify!
Hello to everyone!
I hope you are staying positive, looking after each other and making the best of this situation that we have no control over. I really love all the photos you are sending in.
They make me smile a lot!
Because we are spending so much time together at home, working, doing school work, trying to entertain ourselves etc., etc. it’s more important now than ever that we find quiet and peaceful moments in our lives to keep our minds and bodies healthy.
One of my favourite things to do is listen to and share music.
I find at times of stress and worry, listening to gentle music has a profoundly calming effect. It’s like a brain/mind massage and allows for deep relaxation.
While listening to gentle music there are many things you can do:
- Sit or lie down with your eyes closed and breathe.
- Sit and look out the window at trees, birds, flowers swaying in the wind.
- Do some gentle stretching/movement.
- Do a drawing or a painting.
- Read a book.
- Play quietly.
- Tidy up, sweep the floor, water the plants, fold and put away the laundry, the list is endless.
Spotify, my favourite app, has made music of all genres from all parts of the globe accessible to everyone.
I thought some of you might be interested in and enjoy listening to some of the music I like to listen to for “Quiet Time”.
Arvo Pärt and Yo-Yo Ma plays Bach are favourites for years. Hania Rani is a more recent, delightful discovery.
If you already subscribe to Spotify you should be able to just click on the link and listen to the albums with headphones or bluetooth speaker.
Fingers crossed it works!
