Room 7: Miss Quirke's 3rd and 4th class 18th - 22nd May
Hi girls,
I hope you have had a good week and that you and your families are keeping well. I loved receiving all of your amazing emails this week. I was so happy to see and hear about all the lovely things you have been doing at home. I am so proud of you all. I have a few more guidelines of work for the coming week (18th -22nd of May) and I hope that you will all do what you can from it and try your best.
This week I have been baking chocolate buns. I put a picture down below to show you. I also started learning a new skill. I have never done this before but it’s something I have always wanted to try. Even teachers can try new things! Have you tried learning any new skills recently? I would love to hear about them. I have a picture below of the new skill I am learning. I’ll give you a hint: it’s something musical!
I can’t wait to hear from you all again soon.
Take care,
Miss Quirke π

I have added photographs of the Word Wizard pages below in case you do not have your Word Wizard book at home.
Writing: you can choose one or more of these prompts for your writing this week:
• If you could have any superpower for a day, what would it be? What could you do?
• Write a story about an artistic elephant.
• Healthy food or tasty food: which is best for children?
Extra work: there is a document below called ‘Apostrophes’ which will help you to revise what you know about apostrophes, e.g. ‘the dog’s tail’ or I’ll = I will. It is labelled ‘4th class’ on the worksheet but is suitable for 3rd and 4th class.
Maths:
Planet Maths 3: pp. 100 & 101 (Marvin the Great) and pp. 124 & 125 (Emma’s Kitchen)
Planet Maths 4: pp. 100 & 101 (Lord Voldemaths’s Lab) and pp. 124 & 125 (Parade Day)
Keep practicing the tables, girls. Learning them well now will make all the difference as you come across bigger multiplication and division sums in the future. Challenge yourself by using a timer, and trying to beat your personal best!
Irish:
3rd class: Finish chapter 20 (Pancóga)
4th class: Finish chapter 20 (Rás na Lachann)
Music:
In the documents below there is a tin whistle song for the girls called ‘Kerry Polka’. It is quite an easy tune with some repetition in it. It can be a fast song but the girls can play this song at any speed they are most comfortable with.
Art: continue with 30 day drawing challenge. I love all of the drawings you have sent me so far!
SESE:
