Room 7: Miss Quirke's 3rd and 4th class 11th -15th May
Hi girls,
I hope you are all keeping well and had a relaxing Bank Holiday weekend. Below are more guidelines of work for you to follow. Thank you so much for your emails. It is fantastic to see you being so creative at home. I have added some of your photos below. I also added some photos of what I am getting up to at home. If you have any queries or would like to show more of your work, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Take care,
Miss Quirke π
English:
English spellings: Unit 28, LCWC, workbook activities and create sentences for 10 of these words.
Word Wizard 3: p. 70 (phonics: -air/-are/-ear/-ere words) and p. 71 (pronouns)
Word Wizard 4: p. 82 (phonics: -ve words) and p. 83 (sentences, phrases and paragraphs)
I have added photographs of the Word Wizard pages below in case you do not have your Word Wizard book at home.
Writing prompt for both classes: write about a book/story/comic/information text you are reading at the moment. Write down what the book is about (without giving away all the details!) and who might enjoy this book and why (for example, someone who enjoys nature, someone who loves animals, etc.).
Maths:
Both classes: if you have finished the Chance chapter, you can move on to Mental Maths 1 and 2. These are on pp. 30 & 31 and 54 & 55 on both books. These sums are a mixture of topics we have covered and will give you a chance to revise these topics.
Irish:
Bun go Barr 3: p. 124-126 ‘Pancóga’. Read story on pages 124 and 125 and answer questions on p. 126.
Bun go Barr 4: p. 124 – 127 ‘Rás na Lachann’. Look at the picture on pages 124 and 125. Write a few sentences about what is happening in the picture. Read story on p. 126 and answer questions on p. 127.
Both classes: if you can, try to create a drama at home based on your story, like you have done in class!
SESE: This week, we will have a look at Ireland’s climate and compare it to other climates around the world. Climate means the weather over a long period of time, the usual or typical weather of an area. Take note of the different environments found in different climates. I hope that you find it interesting to compare our climate and environment to others!

PE:
This week I’m suggesting that you have a ‘Silly Sports Day’. It can be as silly as you like, for example, you can run relay races backwards, dress up in silly clothes or make up your own silly rules for sports games you enjoy. I hope you have fun with this!
Art: I hope the 30 day drawing challenge is going well for you. I have attached the challenge again to this weeks work and you can find it below.
