Room 5 work for week 20th-24th April

19th Apr 2020

Hello Girls,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe at home. I hope you took a break over the Easter Holidays and that the Easter Bunny came to everyone. At least the weather has been lovely.

Here is some more work for the week ahead in case you are missing school too much. Like I said the last time, don’t worry if you have difficulty accessing the internet to read the e- books. Just do what you can.  Remember, this is a most unusual time for all of us. Use this time to be creative. You can direct your own journey of self discovery and learning on any topic. You all know how to do a project. I’m looking forward to seeing your projects on the Netherlands. Anne Frank and Vincent Van Gogh are two interesting subjects for a biography…

Here is the work for this week.

English :  You can access the e- book of Word Wizard for 4th class by clicking on www.gill explore.ie and register for free.

Work through unit 13 -The Life cycle of the butterfly.

Move on to the next unit in Spellbound.

Gaeilge:  Bun go Barr  cj fallon .ie -unit 17  “Seo é mo scéal”,

Litriú- pick 12 of the words in the purple boxes on page 106. You can do more if you are up for a challenge. Cuir in abairtí iad freisin. Remember you can look up the meaning of words on Focloir.ie

Maths:  Planet Maths  folens.ie  page 157-161 Capacity. You should be able to do most of this chapter. It’s very like length and weight. Try to do some measuring in the kitchen. I’m going to give you a recipe for SPHE that I was planning to do in school with you.

Do one maths challenge test a day and continue to work on your tables sheet- one column a week.

SPHE:  Write out this lovely recipe for Banana Bread. Of course it’s very healthy. I know it’s difficult to get flour in the shops at the moment. Apparently, everyone is baking at home!!

Art:  If the weather is nice this week, go out into the garden and sketch something. Or , you could paint a butterfly, or use bits of coloured paper to do a collage.

Don’t forget to tune into the RTE home School hub at 11am each morning.

P.E: Do some yoga or the Joe Wicks morning exercises

Music:  Listen to some music on SFSkids.org .You could continue to explore the sections of the orchestra.
