Music with Avril

1st class and Ms.O’Brien were very lucky to be one of a few classes in Tipperary to be chosen by Waterford Teachers Centre to take part in The Artist and Teacher in Partnership programme. Avril Kinane a musician was the artist and for 6 weeks 2 hours a week we worked together exploring sound through dance, listening to many instruments being played, listening to recorded music, body percussion, voice, percussion instruments, tin whistle playing, song, rap and through silence. It was a wonderful experience and ended with a performance on the 29th of May. Well done to all the girls for their fantastic concentration, creativity and innovation.
