Design a book cover competition

Children’s Books Ireland has joined with The O’Brien Press to give children the opportunity to have their artwork featured on the cover of a professionally published book. They are looking for help in re-jacketing Gordon Snell’s The Supermarket Ghost, first published in 2007. With a new edition set to be launched in Autumn 2020, this exciting ghostly adventure needs a great new look that will help it appeal to young readers today, as well as giving a strong sense of the what the book is about.

Build a Better World Art Competition 

Toyota Ireland launched the ‘Build a Better World Art Competition’ on the 27th of March. Young artists are being asked to draw, paint or build their version based on a theme that will be announced each Monday

The fourth week of the competition will begin on 20th April and the deadline for entries is Friday 24th April at 12pm. This week's theme is "Dream Car" . Every week one winner in each age catagory will be announced and receive a prize of a €100 Art & Hobby gift voucher.

We have completed these activities in class already; telling the time in Irish, multiplying fractions (by whole numbers only for 5th class but you could try the 6th class ones if you think you might be able) and Medieval Times in history.
