Junior Infant Activities - Room 1 and Room 2 - Week beginning 30th March
Hello Junior Infants!
We hope you are all keeping well and enjoying your time at home. We miss you all and can’t wait to see you all soon. Teidí is missing you all too.
Here are some ideas of activities you can do this week at home. We hope you are enjoying the activities so far. Keep up the great work!

English – Reading
• Revise tricky words: I / the / he / she
Write the words in your copy and put them into sentences orally.
• Word Boxes • Read some stories together.
Ask your mum or dad some questions about the story.
Pick your favourite part of the story and draw a picture in your copy.
Try writing some words from the story in your copy.
English – Phonics
• Sound Keyring – keep practising!
Ask someone to test your sounds and letter names.
Ask an adult or older sibling to write two of every letter on cards and play a game of snap / matching game.
• Sound Hunt Challenge
Can you find something in your house for every letter of the alphabet? Gather the objects and take a photo for the school website.

English – Writing
• Write a line of the following letters in your copy – c, o, a, d, g, u, y, r, n, m, h • Free writing – try to write some words in your copy
Maths
• Practise counting up to 10, forwards and backwards. • Write the numbers on some cards and put them in the correct order. • Draw 1 tiger, 2 giraffes, 3 snakes, 4 bears and 5 elephants in your copy.
Write the correct number over each picture.

Religion
• Pick 3 things you are thankful for and draw a picture in your copy.
e.g. friends, family, house, food, sunshine, pets
• Ask an adult to tell you the Easter Story.

SESE / Art
• Go for a walk outside and look for signs of spring. • Draw / paint a spring picture.
What flowers do you see? What is the weather like?
Draw you in the picture remembering to draw all the body parts.

Pick your favourite go noodle videos to get some exercise.
• PE Challenges
Can you throw and catch a ball 10 times?
Can you throw, clap and catch a ball 10 times?
Can you bounce and catch a ball 10 times?
Make some skittles with empty bottles. Can you roll the ball to knock down the bottles?
Other Activities
• Do a job at home.
Ask someone if they need help with anything. E.g. washing up, sweeping the floor, tidying the toys.
• Make an Easter card for your grandparents. • Build a spring garden with your toys. • Have a teddy bears picnic with your favourite teddies. • Play, play, play!
