Hope Foundation

A  past pupil who is in T.Y.  recently returned to tell us about her volunteering visit to KolKata (formerly known as Calcutta) in India. She went out there with the Hope Foundation Volunteer Programme. They  work to change the lives of the poorest street and slum children in Kolkata. Volunteers use their skills and experience to support HOPE’s Kolkata staff in delivering services to their projects in a variety of areas including: education, healthcare, vocational training and recreational activities. Claire made a very informative presentation to 5^th and 6^th class on her return about what her week in India entailed.  A certain amount of money had to be raised before she went and this was donated to her from the proceeds of the bunsales which are held in the school each year.
