Green School's Week 1st Room 6 15th to 19th June
Green School’s Week 15th to 19th June
Hi gorgeous girls!
I hope you had fun with your tour and memory activities? Thank you once again for all the lovely photos!
It’s great now that we can travel a little and see some family and friends. Every few weeks life is getting a little bit easier and we can do some of the things we used to do.
It has been very busy around here with silage cutting and collecting. Blu has been running around the garden barking at all the tractors as they pass! I made elderflower cordial this week because there's so many elderflowers in the hedges. I included photos with your class. It is lovely but it is a special treat because it has so much sugar in it!!!
This week is Green Schools Week! In your envelope you have a double-sided sheet with lots of really fun and really nice activities. You also have a paper bag with wildflower seeds for you to plant!
Some of the activities I have already posted over the last few months are listed on the sheet and they could be done during Green School Week if you haven’t already done them e.g. Making a bug hotel, having a minibeast hunt, the great bird spotting challenge, making nature bracelets, making an animal/instrument from recycled materials, something from your Wellness Calendar to be a good citizen etc. Making a Fairy Garden sounds like a lovely idea doesn't it?
Watch out for a special letter and story on website from Ms. Dennehy and Mrs. O’Brien.
Keep an eye on your bins and make sure all your waste is sorted properly and recycled items are clean! Also work hard at conserving water as there is a water shortage at the moment because we’ve had so little rain!
Last of all watch these videos with your parents.

Then with your parents click on link and go to Teach The Goals To 4-8 Year Olds to learn how you can be Green and look after your beautiful world.

Don’t forget to keep your Jolly Phonics, diary cover, Rubbish Monster and LLO book (if any of you have one) to give back to me for September. Put them in a bag with your name on them and we will get to swap over bundles Tuesday evening this week 16th June between 5 and 8 o'clock. Mrs. Andrews will be in touch about all of this.
If your parents want you to continue with some English, Maths or other subjects that’s great but there’s no pressure to do so.
Have a fantastic Green Week. Maybe one day you could dress in green! Email me photos pleeeeasssse!
Miss you all so much,
Lots of love,
Ms.Maggie O’Brien xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
