Cahir Castle.
17th Mar 2018
6th class visited Cahir Castle recently as part of their local history trail. The girls had been studying the arrival of the Normans in Ireland and norman castles. Cahir castle is a wonderful example of a norman castle which has been restored to its former glory. It is a castle steeped in history and which amazingly still has a working portcullis. The girls could experience and see first-hand all the defensive features of the castle and explore all areas in the castle. The girls really enjoyed the day and learned a lot. Thanks to Jan who came with us.
