Assignments for 18th May-22nd May 2020

16th May 2020

Hi 6th class,

I hope you are all well and safe and doing your assignments as best you can.  It is so important that you are trying your best to do your work at this time. Some of you are making a plan/schedule out each day and sticking to it. This is a great way of putting structure on your day and reviewing what you achieved or didn’t achieve that day.

I’m so delighted to receive your emails daily as it gives me some feedback on how you managed the tasks I set. Thanks to all who continue to email me with your wonderful work. One or two lines would also be great, just to let me know how your week was. My email is aflanagancashelgirls@gmail.com.

IMPORTANT NOTICES FOR 6TH CLASS.

This week some tasks( handprint, letter to your future self)  have been set for 5th & 6th that are going to go into a time capsule in our school as a historical record of what we experienced during Covid 19. I am urging you to take part in this as you are the seniors in the school and will carry out the task, as you do everything, to the very best of your ability. In 2030 we would love to invite you all back to dig up the capsule together. What a celebration that would be!!!

Also some Confirmation tasks ( My memories of My Confirmation Day/Design the cover of your scrapbook)  have been set and these will eventually make it into your Confirmation Scrapbook which we will be giving back to you as your keepsake. This handover will take place in June at some stage. So get started!! Do them on a white A4 sheet so they can be stuck into your scrapbook.

Mrs. Kealy and I are putting a “shout out” for your photos of when you were small.  We always do this for 6th class at this time of the year. The photos must be school related and can have your friends or family in it. You can email these to us at our school emails.

Thanks again for your co-operation and support during this period. Keep safe.

Kind Regards,

Aileen Flanagan.

Níor bhog mé ar feadh tamaill                              I didn’t move for awhile

Ar dheis ná ar chlé,                                                Left nor right

Agus d’eitil an bhumbóg ar aghaidh                        and the bee flew away

·         Plan and  write a letter to my future self.

In this letter  you are going to write to yourself ten years from now. In it you will write to a 22 year old you!! What will you be doing then in the future? Will you be in college? Will you be working?  What was happening in your life at the time you wrote this letter? What were your goals at the time? What were you looking forward to? What life might be like in 10 years time in Ireland? Will you be living in Ireland in ten years time? How do you fell about yourself? Have you any advice to give to an older you. What lessons have you learned a long the way?

Don’t forget to lay out your letter properly as you’ve been shown in school. Include address/date/ who you are writing to/ an opening greeting/ why you are writing this letter/main body of the letter/ farewell  .

·         Paint your hand and print it on a white A4 sheet. Sign it and date it please. Its for the Time Capsule.

·         My memories of my Confirmation day 7th March 2020.

This is something we always put in our scrapbooks. It is similar to the memories we did for Our Communion Day which is already in the scrapbook. Include the date/ the priests there/ Archbishop Kieran O’ Reilly/ your sponor/ family and relatives/ what you remember about the ceremony and the celebration afterwards.

·         Design the front of your Confirmation Scrapbook 2020.  I have included some photos for inspiration. You can design your own or use the template I’ve included as a download at the end of this document. If you could do this on an A4 sheet we can stick it directly on to the front of the scrapbook later. Thanks you girls.
