6th Class Room 11 - 8th June!
Hello girls,
It was lovely to see so many of you on Zoom last week. I really miss your enthusiasm, good humor and your sense of fun in class. All of you are what makes teaching a really great job and it was lovely to see all your smiling faces.
I hope that you all had a fantastic Wellness Week and that you are all relaxed and ready for another action pack week this week!
I can see from the photographs you sent to Miss. Cronin that you all had an amazing time on Friday, baking and setting up your Virtual Bunsale. I am so proud of all you for the effort you put into your last bunsale!!!
I had a "Feelgood Friday" myself - I had two delicious buns and a plate of yummie treats delivered to my door. I have decided that I will make a donation of €5 to "The Great Irish Bake for Temple Street" for each of the deliveries and I will also make a donation of €2 for each girl from our class who took part in the Virtual Bunsale and sent a photograph in to Miss. Cronin. So that's a grand total of €32 that you have raised for Temple Street Childrens' Hospital! Well done everyone!!!
We have lots of great activities for you to do this week as we look back on the 2019/20 school year and look forward to next year. You will never forget sixth class and the Coronavirus Pandemic but so much more happened in the 2019/20 school year. I have listed many of the activities we did this year below - you will be amazed by how much we packed into six and a half months!
I'm sure that you are all really excited about moving on to sixth class next year. It is an exciting and scary time for you. This week we are going to look at your hopes for first year and the things you hope to achieve.
This week 5th and 6th class will also be making kindness rocks. You will be bringing them back to me and leaving your mark on the school!
I hope you enjoy reminiscing on all the good times you had in sixth class and enjoy School Memories Week.
Have fun!
Mrs. Kealy
Ps. Have a look at the video for Children’s Day in Poland Patrycja from Miss. Flanagan’s class is in it.
Important! We are hoping to collect your books and work next week so you can start to organise everything now. We will be collecting Book Rental books, calculators, novels, library books and any other school items you may have at home. Keep your time capsule work, your jigsaw piece etc. safe in the brown envelope, we will be collecting them too. I'm going to have another busy week this week - tidying the classroom and organising your work so that I can return it to you next week. Your parents will get a notification when we have organised the collection/ drop off. |
Here is your work for this week

Complete the A3 size worksheet from your pack.
Inside each block draw a picture of your highlights from this school year eg. Christmas Show, Miss. Clohessey, choir, our inspector, trip to playground etc.
Your Hopes for the Future
What are your aspirations for the future.
Look at the poem “Oh the places you’ll go “ in Word Wizard 6 on pg 98.
You can log into www.gillexplore.ie/products as a student, PRIMARY section and use the ebook or its at the end of this document as a download.
Think about your aspirations for the future. Write them on an A4 page and decorate it. I will be collecting this and using it for your end of year memories.
Time Capsule Worksheet (from your work pack)
Complete both sides of worksheet, one side is ‘Interview Your Parents’ and the other side is ‘Things to Remember’.
Kindness Rocks!
Follow the links below to learn about kindness rocks, watch the video and create your own kindness rocks!
Steps 1: Collect suitable rocks (make sure that they are big enough and smooth enough to paint).
Step 2: Wash your rock well and let it dry.
Step 3: Paint your rock. Acrylic paint works best but use whatever paint you have. You may need to give rock a couple of coats.
Step 4: Use a sharpie to add your message to the rock.
Step 5: Seal the rock - we will do this for you in school.
Hang on to them so that we can create a kindness garden at school. We’ll collect them later this month.
