5th Class Room 11

7th Jun 2020

Hello girls,

I hope you all had a fantastic Wellness Week and that you are all relaxed and ready for another action pack week this week!

I can see from the photographs you sent to Miss. Cronin that you all had an amazing time on Friday, baking and setting up your Virtual Bunsale. I will be watching out for all of you on "The Great Irish Bake Off" in a couple of year's time.

I had a "Feelgood Friday" myself - I had two delicious buns and a plate of yummie treats delivered to my door. I have decided that I will make a donation of €5 to "The Great Irish Bake for Temple Street" for each of the deliveries and I will also make a donation of €2 for each girl from our class who took part in the Virtual Bunsale and sent a photograph in to Miss. Cronin. So that's a grand total of €32 that you have raised for Temple Street Childrens' Hospital! Well done everyone!!!

We have lots of great activities for you to do this week as we look back on the 2019/20 school year and look forward to next year. I'm sure that you are all really excited about being the "big girls" in the school next year and all of the exciting jobs you will have, like being a buddy to the Junior Infants, the sixth class duties and being on yard squad. The girls who are leaving us this year did all these jobs so well this year but I have no doubt that you will step up to the mark next year and be every bit as good.

We will never forget 2020 and the Coronavirus Pandemic but so much more happened during the 2019/20 school year. I have listed many of the activities we did this year below - you will be amazed by how much we packed into six and a half months!

This week 5th and 6th class will also be making kindness rocks. You will be bringing them back to me to leave in the school and bright I got the school for all the pupils.

I hope you enjoy reminiscing on all the good times you had in fifth class.

Mrs. Kealy

Important!

We are hoping to collect your books and work next week so you can start to organise everything now.

We will be collecting Book Rental books, calculators, novels, library books and any other school items you may have at home.

Keep your time capsule work, your jigsaw piece etc. safe in the brown envelope, we will be collecting them too.

I'm going to have another busy week this week - tidying the classroom and organising your work so that I can return it to you next week.

Your parents will get a notification when we have organised the collection/ drop off.

Kindness Rocks!

Follow the links below to learn about kindness rocks, watch the video and create your own kindness rocks!

Steps 1: Collect suitable rocks (make sure that they are big enough and smooth enough to paint).

Step 2: Wash your rock well and let it dry.

Step 3: Paint your rock. Acrylic paint works best but use whatever paint you have. You may need to give rock a couple of coats.

Step 4: Use a sharpie to add your message to the rock.

Step 5: Seal the rock - we will do this for you in school.

Hang on to them so that we can create a kindness garden at school. We’ll collect them later this month.
