2nd Class Work - 30/3 - 3/4
Parents, please see below an outline of work to be completed this week for 2nd Class. Don't worry if your child is not able to complete all activities.
Hi Girls,
I hope you are all keeping well. I hope you got on well with the work I set for you. You know I like you to be busy so I have added some more activities below to keep you going but don’t worry if you don’t get them all done. π
Be kind to everyone, help out at home and have a lovely Easter.

Maths
Revise adding and subtracting of tens and units. I’ve scanned two worksheets for you to do. Don’t forget our jingle when taking away tens and units.

It is really important to read every day to keep your skills up so find a cosy nook and curl up with a book !

P.43 Drop the ‘e’, add ing. Complete activities 1-3.

P.86 & 87 Amazing Mums Complete activities 1-3.
Using the text, Amazing Mums, find;
6 verbs (doing words)
5 nouns (person, place, thing, animal)
4 adjectives (describing words)
3 tricky to spell words
2 words that have an opposite
1 WOW word
Writing
Write a book review for the last book you read. Include the following headings;
Title:
Author:
Illustrator:
Setting: (Where the story takes place?)
Plot: (What is the story about?)
My favourite character was……………….because……
My favourite part of the story was when…….
Draw a picture of your favourite part of the story.
Use the Easter mindfulness colouring templates below to make Easter cards for someone.
Read the information sheet about snails and answer the questions attached.
Listen to David Walliams read a different story every day from his ‘The World’s Worst Children’ series.

Revise the Chapters ‘Timpiste’ and ‘An Phicnic’.
Read and listen to the stories, play the vocabulary games, listen to the song and poem. Look around you. Make simple sentences ‘as Gaeilge’ of what you can see.
- Listen to Scéal an Lae on YouTube. Search ‘scéal an lae tg4’ for lots of nice stories as Gaeilge.

Geography/Science
Geography: Research how Easter is celebrated around the world.
Science: Snails
Research snails online or in any nature books you have at home.
There are also lots of informative videos on YouTube about snails. Ask a parent to help you.
Create a factfile about Snails.
Draw a snail. Label the different parts.
Paint or draw a snail in its habitat. Be creative.

Take a virtual trip around the world, find your house or take a walk around town on Google Earth.
Write a journal or diary entry each day about what you have been up to while you’ve been off from school, your thoughts and feelings. Draw pictures, add photos or doodles to illustrate. Be creative!
