Do you like my Ethiopian (Amharic) Hello?

Sooooo good to see so many of you last Monday. I had a lovely day delivering, chatting, hearing your gorgeous voices and seeing all your beautiful faces. It kept me very happy for the whole week!

Thanks for all the lovely emails and photos again this week. Well done for staying in touch!

Here’s some more work for this week and remember Extra Activities in last week’s work.

There’s a lot of maths including the worksheets I delivered last Monday so remember you can spread those over a number of weeks.

Continue with work already assigned or start more if you are ready!

Maths:

There is a lot here so you might do some of this work over the month of June!

Mental Maths:

  • Planet Maths p.145, 155 and 156
  • Maths Challenge: P. 47,48 and 49 (Test 43, 44 +45).
  • Continue to use Khan Academy App to revise topics.
  • Don’t forget 100 square activities, Buzz and card games.

Addition with or without regrouping and subtraction revised:

  • Always add and take away the units first!
  • Decide whether you need to regroup the units.
  • Only regroup when they add to more than nine.
  • Don’t forget to bring over your 10.
  • With mixed sums always ask yourself “do I add or subtract?”
  • Worksheets provided in pack that was delivered to your house.
  • Subtraction in Planet Maths p.144, 149, 150 and 160.

English:

  • Write some facts you’ve learned about Ethiopia.
  • Complete Ethiopian sheet provided in delivered pack and colour the flag.
  • Keep writing your daily diary/news.
  • Read p.49-54 Rubbish Monster.
  • I tested you on the first 75 sight words. Can you test yourself on the last 84? (See photos below).
  • Read something every day. You can find lots of ebooks from your downloaded Khan Academy Kids App and https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/

  • Jolly Phonics: p.36 ‘wh’ and Future Tense Verbs p.37
  • Khan Academy Kids App to play games like 2 syllable words, Verb Tenses, Language Practice, Vowel Sounds, Diagraph and blends and sight word games.(Go to Library, Reading)

 

N.B.: Jolly Grammar 1 Book is to be kept for 2nd Class because the 2nd half of the book is done then, so, do not go past p.39 and mind the book for September! Good Girls!
