1916 exhibition in Clonmel
On Tuesday 24th May, 6th class pupils travelled to Clonmel Museum where they were given the opportunity to view the 1916 exhibition.
The girls enjoyed an interactive talk on the 1916 Rising given by Michael Moylan. They also got a chance to try on various uniforms of the day, from the Norman era right up to the 1916 Rising and handle the weapons and artefacts of the various historical periods.
The students also visited the museum's new 1916 Sensory Room where they engaged in a variety of exercises required to be a Volunteer during 1916 including: Printing Techniques, Target Practice, Uniform Assembly, Proclamation Readings and the museum's first ever ‘Selfie Booth’ to record their training.
