European School Sport Day (ESSD)

ESSD is a day where lots of schools across Europe celebrate sport on the same day.  It was due to take place on the 30^th of September but due to bad weather conditions we had to postpone our day.  Instead, we got to celebrate it on the 10^th of October, and it was a great day!  All classes from Junior Infants up to 6^th class took part in a variety of activities in the beautiful October sunshine.  The Active School Committee (Denise, Pippa, Charlotte, Emma, Ruby, Shona, Réidín, Faye Alice, Sarah and Ava) helped Mrs McGlinchey and Miss Hoare organise the day by setting up different activities at different stations, so all classes got to enjoy egg and spoon races, the parachute, hurdles, javelins, sack races, three legged races and many more games.  A huge thank you to the committee for their efforts and it is a great start to an active year in St John the Baptist Girls School.
